CANCER RESEARCH SIMPLIFIED HONORED AS ‘FINAL WINNER’ OF THE 2014 TOP-RATED NONPROFIT AWARD
GreatNonprofits.org Award is based on Positive Online Reviews
Somerville, Massachusetts, November 4, 2014 – Cancer Research Simplified announced today that it has been honored with the prestigious 2014 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.
“We are thrilled to be named as Final Winner of the Top-Rated 2014 Nonprofit Award,” says Dr. Ayguen Sahin, CEO and Founder, Cancer Research Simplified. “Our team has worked very hard since its initiation last year, and awards such as this gives us further energy and excitement to move strongly forward – together! We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including winning a finalist position at the Harvard Extension Business Society’s “Pitch Your Passion” Competition 2014, being invited to the Rev2014 Conference in D.C., visiting Massachusetts Senator Markey’s Office in D.C., launching our Afrikaans and Spanish cancer education programs, launching our first of its kind Cancer TV Show Cancer Explained! (streamed on Channel 3), launching our worldwide cancer patient empowerment campaign #empowermentagainstcancer, being invited to attend to Harvard, Princeton, and Yale career fairs, being invited to present at the Yonder Schools in Istanbul/Turkey, participating at the MayFair 2014 in Harvard Square, organizing three monthly sports and recreation events open to the public, launching our new educational pictures program, being interviewed by EuroCirle, and being invited to the Massachusetts General Hospital Postdoctoral Association (MGPA) Mentored Lunch, and recently receiving a grant from Genentech in support of our 2015 Cancer Symposium Series, beginning on January 28 with our Breast Cancer Symposium.” The Top-Rated Nonprofit award was based on the large number of positive reviews that Cancer Research Simplified received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. Many people posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. For example, one person wrote, “CRS is a fantastic organization that is not only very helpful and willing but also very professional knowledgeable and up to date. I really like the multinational approach also. Thanks for being there.”
While the Top-Rated Awards ran through the end of October, Cancer Research Simplified was part of the inaugural group to qualify for the year. In addition, Cancer Research Simplified will been added to GreatNonprofits #GivingTuesday Guide—an interactive guide to top nonprofits throughout the years. Look for this near the holidays.
“Savvy donors want to see the impact of their donations more than ever,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “People with direct experience with Cancer Research Simplified have voted that the organization is making a real difference.”
Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization. The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit. This award is a form of recognition by the community. About Cancer Research Simplified: its mission is to 1.) Make cancer and cancer research understandable for everyone; 2.) Bridge the gap between cancer researchers and cancer patients; and 3.) Provide scholarships to young students worldwide to encourage careers in cancer research.
