More and more latest scientific studies suggest that combinational therapy is more efficient than single treatment/drug alone. I myself published as well such combinatorial therapy strategies that involve chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and anti-angiogenic (blocking blood vessel development), for glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most common, most aggressive, and deadly type of adult brain tumors.
Here in this study, chemotherapy and cancer vaccine (one several types of immunotherapy strategies) were combined to clinically treat ovarian cancer patients. Up to 60% of patients showed clinical benefit from this therapy. Although this therapeutic strategy is still in test phase, scientists of this study believe that this therapy could be beneficial as there is enough scientific and clinical evidence accumulated showing the likelihood of its success.

Women with recurrent ovarian cancer showed clinical benefit when treated with a drug called decitabine before undergoing chemotherapy and a cancer vaccine. This is according to a new study published in the journal Cancer Immunology Research.
