FDA approved today a new diagnostic imaging agent, Axumin, to detect recurrent prostate cancer. Axumin is a radioactive diagnostic agent for injection. Axumin has been developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in men with suspected prostate cancer recurrence based on elevated prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels following prior treatment.
