CERI Social Media Team Member
Description:
The CERI Social Media Team Member manages Cancer Education and Research Institute (CERI)'s social media presence (see below) and develops relationships with the community, supporters, fans, funders, and venues. Must have flawless writing skills in English and the ability to craft a personable, professional tone for all online public communications. We are also seeking German or Turkish native speakers for Social Media. The CERI Social Media Team Member will directly contribute in support of CERI’s work and expand CERI’s educational programs.

Location:
The CERI Social Media Team Member will mainly work remotely.
The Length of Appointment:
This position requires a commitment for a minimum of 12 months. After an initial 3-month test period, he/she may be eligible for a full-year reappointment at the discretion of the supervisor to complete a full year.
Time Commitment:
Hours are flexible. Generally, 1-2 hours for 2-3 days per week, depending on his/her successfully accomplishing his/her assigned projects and organizational deadlines.
Development opportunities and recognition:
After successful completion of a full year, he/she may be promoted to a managerial role within the organization at the discretion of the supervisor. Volunteers are highly valuable members of CERI and each volunteer makes a true difference in CERI’s work to provide the necessary education to cancer patients and the general public. CERI recognizes volunteers who successfully completed their placement. Special recognition is given yearly for outstanding volunteers.
Support:
Training for this position will be provided. Also, the Executive Director and/or assigned committee chair will be available for questions.

- Create and curate engaging content for our non-profit's social media platforms, including Youtube, Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and maintain a consistent posting schedule, ensuring content aligns with CERI's organization's mission and branding.
- Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and engage with the online community in a positive and timely manner.
- Utilize social media analytics tools to track and report on key performance metrics, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in using various social media platforms and familiarity with their features.
- Creative skills for content creation, including graphic design and basic video editing.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics to assess performance and inform future strategies.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey the organization's message effectively.
