CERI Outreach Team Member or Outreach Coordinator
Description:
The CERI Outreach Team Member or Outreach Coordinator will coordinate and/or engage in CERI’s community outreach and engagement initiatives. He/she will work to increase the organization’s presence in the community; and will build relationships with individuals, other organizations, and centers in support of CERI’s work. The CERI Outreach Team Member or Outreach Coordinator will directly contribute in support of CERI’s work by developing and/or advancing CERI’s outreach programs in increasing community and collaborations with other organizations and centers.

Other requirements: International students in the US are also required to provide verification for eligibility to volunteer from their school or international offices.
Location: The Outreach Team Member or Outreach Coordinator will mainly work remotely.
The Length of Appointment: This position requires a commitment for a minimum of 12 months. After an initial 3-month test period, he/she may be eligible for a full-year reappointment at the discretion of the supervisor to complete a full year.
Time Commitment: Hours are flexible. Generally, 2-3 hours for 2-3 days per week, depending on his/her successfully accomplishing his/her assigned projects and organizational deadlines.
Development opportunities and recognition: After the successful completion of a full year, he/she may be promoted to a managerial role within the organization at the discretion of the supervisor. Volunteers are highly valuable members of CERI and each volunteer makes a true difference in CERI’s work to provide the necessary education to cancer patients and the general public. CERI recognizes volunteers who successfully completed their placement. Special recognition is given yearly for outstanding volunteers.
Support: Training for this position will be provided. Also, the Executive Director and/or assigned committee chair will be available for questions.

Key Responsibilities:
- The Outreach Team Member or Outreach Coordinator will develop and/or increase CERI’s outreach program strategies, campaigns, and collaborations
- He/she will identify and actively reach out to community centers, organizations, and centers to explore partnership opportunities.
- He/she will identify community events relative to CERI’s mission and work, and coordinate and/or participate in participation in these events
- He/she will coordinate and/or contribute to the creation, production, and distribution of promotional campaign or event materials.
- Contribute to marketing, public relations, and media relations as required.
- Attends the monthly Outreach Team meeting, online or in-person, and as required.
- Meets pressing deadlines.
- Serves as a natural ambassador for the organization.
- Aids in social media and fundraising efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, creative thinker, and highly organized
- Ability to produce high-quality work on critical deadlines
- Outreach experience
- Project management experience (for Outreach Coordinator position)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Bilingualism is a plus
