How To Combat Excessive Heat
Our Dear CERI Supporter,
As our valued subscriber and supporter, we wanted to share with you our special report on how to combat current excessive heat with simplified tips.
What is heat-related illness?
Watch these symptoms:
- Headache
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Weakness
- Irritability
- Confusion
- Light head
- Thirst
- Muscle cramp
- Heavy sweating
- Temperature 100.4 degrees F (38 degrees C) and above
What to do:
- Water (slowly hydrate yourself with water. Drink water every 15 min in small sips even if you're not thirsty.)
- Rest (rest in shade and slowly hydrate yourself with water)
- Shade (be in shade as much as possible, wear light-colored clothes)
What to drink:
- Water
- Better: Water with electrolytes (you can also add a piece of lemon inside to your water for electrolytes)
These will hydrate your body!
What NOT to drink:
- Coffee
- Alcohol
- Coke
- Tea (black or green)
These will further dehydrate your body!
If you experience ANY of these signs - CALL 9-1-1:
- Flushing of the skin
- Rapid breathing
- A racing heartbeat
- A worst headache imaginable
