CANCER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE® UN Award-Winning Pioneer of Personalized Cancer Care, to Present Urgent Policy Reforms at UN HLM4 for Non Communicable Diseases
Leading Global Cancer Experts to Advocate Critical Amendments Addressing Life Threatening Gaps in Current UN Cancer Policy Framework
September 24, 2025
CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, September 24, 2025 – Cancer Education and Research Institute®, a globally recognized, UN award-winning cancer care organization with over 12 years of proven, evidence based success achieving 90% cancer survival rates worldwide, has been granted special accreditation to participate in the Fourth United Nations High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health (HLM4) on September 25, 2025, at UN Headquarters in New York.
At this historic decennial gathering of Heads of State and government leaders, Cancer Education and Research Institute®'s CEO, founder, and cancer scientist, Dr. Aygün Sahin, will present a critical set of five evidence-based amendments aimed at closing devastating policy gaps that currently jeopardize cancer outcomes globally. Unlike theoretical frameworks, these recommendations are grounded in over a decade of frontline implementation delivering exceptional survival and quality of life improvements in diverse healthcare settings.
"Current UN healthcare policies within the Zero Draft Political Declaration overly emphasize primary healthcare frameworks, creating fatal bottlenecks delaying diagnosis and limiting rapid access to specialist care," said Dr. Sahin. "Our field experience unequivocally demonstrates that immediate specialist access, combined with rigorous price regulation and strict oversight of medical tourism and digital health technologies, are non-negotiable elements of effective cancer care."
Five Life-Saving Policy Amendments Proposed:
1. Immediate Specialist Access Protocols: Abandon over-reliance on primary healthcare (PHC) systems, ensure mandatory networks and specialist integration pathways securing specialist access within 72 hours of suspected diagnosis to prevent delays proven to cost lives.
2. Robust Healthcare Price Regulation: Establish international frameworks to eliminate unjust specialist care price variability and protect patients from catastrophic costs.
3. Medical Tourism Safety Oversight: Implement global enforcement mechanisms to prevent exploitation and medical tourism deaths in unregulated settings.
4. Responsible Digital Health Governance: Mandate strict validation, cybersecurity, and human oversight of AI and digital tools in healthcare, rejecting unregulated telehealth and population surveillance models.
5. Evidence-Based Cancer-Specific Care Pathways: Promote cancer-specific care pathways and dedicated cancer care specialist networks beyond “one-size-fits-all” healthcare systems to maximize survival gains.
Proven Results, Expert Insight
With over 12 years pioneering personalized cancer care, Cancer Education and Research Institute® brings unmatched technical expertise. Their integrated approach has delivered consistently high survival rates across multiple countries and health systems, bypassing the dangerous delays and systemic gaps the UN's Zero Draft fails to address.
"This is not a critique without solutions. These amendments stem directly from successful implementation data and can be immediately adopted to save millions of lives," emphasized Dr. Sahin.
Available for Consultations During HLM4
Dr. Aygün Sahin will be available throughout HLM4 to consult with Member State delegations to support rapid incorporation of these amendments into the final Political Declaration.
The full technical analysis and detailed amendment language are available at canceredinstitute.org.
