CANCER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE® PRESENTS AT THE UN/WHO GLOBAL INITIATIVE
March 20, 2025
CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, March 20, 2025 – Cancer Education and Research Institute®, a recipient of the prestigious UN Task Force on NCDs (WHO/UNIATF) award, was invited to present at the inaugural meeting of the newly established Award Winners Network, a global initiative bringing together recognized leaders in health and policy to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer, and advancing health equity worldwide.
As the UNIATF Award winner in cancer innovation, Cancer Education and Research Institute® was honored to be part of the inaugural network meeting on March 19, 2025, convened by the UN Task Force on NCDs (WHO/UNIATF). The meeting brought together nearly 50 global institutions, including Ministries of Health, city mayors, and civil society organizations, to establish a framework for the network’s long-term impact.
At this milestone gathering, Dr. Ayguen Sahin, CEO, Founder, and Cancer Lead of Cancer Education and Research Institute®, was one of the two invited speakers to deliver a presentation highlighting the organization’s progress and impact since receiving the award. Additionally, Dr. Sahin was honored to provide strategic recommendations on shaping and strengthening the network’s structure and influence, reinforcing its role in driving global health action.
"It was a privilege to contribute to this initiative and engage with global changemakers working toward a healthier future," said Dr. Sahin. “Being part of this global initiative is a pivotal step in the transformation of combatting NCDs, advancing health equity, particularly for cancer patients worldwide, and ensuring best cancer prevention practices,” she continued. “At Cancer Education and Research Institute, we believe in precision-driven, patient-centered care and scientific education on practical cancer prevention methods, and we are proud to contribute our expertise to this international effort.”
With the fourth United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on NCDs on the horizon, this network aims to enhance coordination among award-winning institutions, policymakers, and advocates, ensuring a stronger, more unified global response to the growing NCD burden.
Shaping the Future of Global Cancer & NCD Prevention
The UN and WHO emphasize the urgency of coordinated action to prevent and manage NCDs—such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases—which account for nearly 74% of global deaths. This new network will serve as a collaborative force to drive policies, innovations, and solutions that make a tangible impact.
As a recognized leader in cancer prevention and care, Cancer Education and Research Institute® will work alongside global partners to:
✅ Strengthen international collaboration in tackling cancer and NCDs
✅ Provide bold solutions for effective cancer prevention methods
✅ Advocate for personalized, patient-centered approaches in global health
✅ Shape strategic initiatives to enhance healthcare accessibility and equity
